About us

All the botanicals for Grubby Girl soaps and bath salts are grown on the Meeting House Farm herb patch.

Our bees collect nectar and help pollinate the farm fields in and around the Green Springs National Historic Landmark District. We use their sweet honey in our bath products. It’s also great on toast!

Currently, I have been trying to get back to the high water mark for our apiary of 18 hives. What with the snow fall last winter and the bear attack the fall before, we were down to 8. I have made three splits this spring and hope, if they all take, to be back up to 12 hives. I have been keeping the girls here on the farm for the past two summers and plan to continue that practice until we are above 18 again. Then they can return to their outposts around the Green Springs Historic Landmark District. If I can catch some good swarms this year, it may not take that long!

loofahs

We experimented with loofas in our new field beds and learned a lot from it. We will be adding them to our product line. They get the most questions at market.

Students from the local Montessori School came out last March to learn about beekeeping.
