All the botanicals for Grubby Girl soaps and bath salts are grown in the Meeting House Farm herb patch.
Our bees collect nectar and help pollinate the farm fields in and around the Green Springs National Historic Landmark District. We use their sweet honey in our bath products. It’s also great on toast!
Currently, I have been trying to get back to the high water mark for our apiary of 18 hives. With the mild winter, the addition of two packages of bees this spring and a recently caught swarm, we are up to 14 hives. I am still keeping the girls here on the farm and plan to continue that practice until we are above 18 again. Then they can return to their outposts around the Green Springs Historic Landmark District. If I can catch some more swarms this year, it may not take that long! My ultimate goal is to have 25 hives in the apiary.

We experimented with loofas in our new field beds and learned a lot from it. We will be adding them to our product line. They get the most questions at market.

Students from the local Montessori School came out to learn about beekeeping.
